Kari, the door and guest list for venues that choose their guests

Kari (Georgian for door) decides who your venue lets in before the night starts. Guests apply with a social profile, you verify them, and the door scans a pass that is valid for one night only.

The Wox team sets up every Kari venue. You send a request, we contact you, prepare the door with you and switch it on. Billing starts when Kari is live.

What it does

A guest asks for access with a profile on a social network: an Instagram name, a Facebook link or a link to another one. Your team looks at it and verifies the people you want. A verified member gets a QR pass for tonight, issued to that one named person, so the name on the pass is the name the door checks against an ID.

Inviting is a privilege you hand out. The members an admin chooses can invite named guests for tonight, and some can invite permanently, which makes the guest a member. Admins can always do both. Members also get a card in their iPhone Wallet: one code for every night, which names the member and shows their photo at the door.

Door staff scan the pass on a phone. The scanner gives its view, but a person decides: nothing is turned away automatically. Every admit and every deny is written to the log, and an admit tapped by mistake is taken back with a new entry rather than erased. Kari also knows that a night crosses midnight, so 01:30 on Saturday still counts as Friday.

Who it is for

Bars, clubs and private venues in Georgia that run a guest list, keep a members' door or want to know exactly who came in on a given night.

How it works with the rest of Wox

Kari is subscribed per business on this portal, with the same Wox account and team you use for Wox Loyalty. It runs on its own and does not need Wox POS, so a venue can use Kari whatever till it has.

Where it stands

Live at kari.wox.ge, where it runs the door of one bar in Tbilisi. Kari costs 299 GEL a month for one venue, and the Wox team sets each venue up.

Questions

How do I get Kari for my venue?

Sign in to the portal, choose your business and send a setup request with your venue's name, city and contact phone. The Wox team contacts you, sets Kari up for your venue and switches it on.

What does Kari cost?

299 GEL a month for one venue. Your subscription waits as pending setup while the Wox team prepares your venue, and nothing is charged before Kari is switched on.

Does the scanner reject guests by itself?

No. The scanner shows whether a pass is valid for tonight and who it belongs to, but a person at the door makes the call, and every decision is written to the log.
